M2M

The AdvanSync Molar-to-Molar appliance is used on patients with a severe class II malocclusion. The appliance consists of partial crowns cemented on the upper and lower first molars which are connected on each side by a telescoping rod that advances the lower jaw. The M2M provides constant activation and eliminates the need for patient compliance. It is adjusted every few months to continue advancing the lower jaw.

In addition to the M2M, the patient will have braces on upper and lower teeth to begin aligning the teeth while jaw correction is taking place. The M2M is worn for about a year, and after removal braces are placed on the molars for the remainder of the treatment time.
